Larsa Pippen’s visit to Tiger King star Doc Antle’s safari park has led to a furious backlash from PETA.
The social media beauty and former wife of NBA star Scottie Pippen paid a visit to the Myrtle Beach Safari with her children, which is owned by Tiger King star Doc Antle.
The 47-year-old star took to a pool to swim with some tiger cubs, and Doc Antle even appeared in some footage posted online too.
Larsa captioned the snaps on her Instagram : « Spent the day w/ some friends @myrtlebeachsafari. Would u guys go swimming w tigers? »
However, the appearance of Larsa at the park has sparked further fury from animal rights organisation PETA.
According to TMZ, PETA has contacted the U.S. Department of Agriculture to investigate Doc Antle for violations of the Animal Welfare Act.
The publication shared a letter from Debbie Metzler, PETA’s Associate Director of Captive Animal Law Enforcement, who blasted Antle’s actions and also the USDA for a lack of inaction.
« USDA has apparently refused to take any meaningful action to prevent Antle from allowing these types of dangerous, direct contact stunts, » writes Metzler.
The document also cites concern for the animals handled by Larsa and her family in case the animals caught Covid-19.
However, TMZ also reveals that Doc argued « Larsa took a tour, which included goofing around with tiger cubs and primates, before shooting footage for a PSA on wild tiger conservation. »
The park owner also appeared on a closed set with Larsa and larger adolescent tigers, and claims they followed USDA guidelines and recommendations to be compliant with the rules.
The Mirror has reached out to representatives of Larsa Pippen and Doc Antle’s Myrtle Beach Safari for comment.
Meanwhile, Tiger King star Joe Exotic is reportedly hopeful that President Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris will help him find freedom as he serves a 22-year prison sentence for crimes that include the attempted murder for hire of his rival Carole Baskin.
Yet, on the prospect of a pardon for Joe Exotic from Biden, Carole Baskin told The Mirror: « I have no fear that President Biden would pardon a tiger killing, hitman hiring, drug dealer. »
